We at Love Roots Pte Ltd (“ShiokFarm”) know that our users and members (“you”) care about how your Personal Data (as defined in Section 1 below) is collected, used and shared, and we take your privacy concerns seriously.
Please read this Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) carefully to understand how ShiokFarm may collect, use and disclose your Personal Data in the course of our normal business operations including through the ShiokFarm website, www.shiokfarm.com (the “Website”).

1. PERSONAL DATA
“Personal Data” means data about a person who can be identified (i) from that data, or (ii) from that data and other information to which ShiokFarm has or is likely to have access.
2. CONSENT
When you provide us with Personal Data to apply for registration of your ShiokFarm membership or other purposes related to the supply of our goods or services, we imply that you consent to our collection of such Personal Data and using it for that specific purpose only.
If we ask for your Personal Data for a secondary purpose, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your express consent, or provide you with an opportunity to opt out of such use of your Personal Data for such secondary purposes. If after you opt in for the use of your Personal Data for a secondary purpose, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your Personal Data, at anytime, by contacting us at hello@shiokfarm.com.
ShiokFarm does not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Data from persons below the age of eighteen (18), or knowingly allow such persons to register a membership with ShiokFarm. If you are under eighteen (18), please do not use the Website, or attempt to register a ShiokFarm membership or send any Personal Data to ShiokFarm.
3. USE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We will only ask for Personal Data from you where it is necessary for us to provide our services to you. We will only collect Personal Data where it is specifically and knowingly provided by you. For example, we will ask for your name, email and postal address, telephone number and Facebook username when you register with us for a membership. We will use this Personal Data to set up your membership and process your orders and payments.
We may also use your contact details to communicate with you about your membership and our services (see section on Contacting You). For example, we may use your Personal Data to contact you to give you information about new products and services that you may be interested in and/or the sharing of agriculture-related news and events or information which we think you may find interesting.
When you browse the Website, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
The Website is hosted on Shopify Inc (“Shopify”). Shopify provides us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you through the Website. Your Personal Data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application and is subject to Shopify’s Privacy Policy. Shopify stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
As provided in the ShiokFarm Terms & Conditions, your credit card and payment details are provided to our designated payment service vendor (Stripe Inc.) and is subject to their Privacy Policy. Your credit card and payment details will not be stored by ShiokFarm.
The only other circumstances when we may provide your Personal Data to third parties are where we are required to do so by law, in order to administer your membership or fulfill your orders, to our suppliers who process data on our behalf, and/or where required for business succession reasons.
We keep a record of your emails to us to assist in our management of your ShiokFarm membership.
4. CONTACTING YOU
We may occasionally contact you in connection with your ShiokFarm membership to enable us to manage and fulfil your orders. For example, if no one has collected your products from the designated collection point. On such an occasion, we will normally try to reach you by telephone or WhatsApp.
From time to time, we may also send you a letter, email or other communication, telling you about new products or special offers offered by us or by carefully selected third parties which we believe may interest you.
We might ask for your views on our products or services to improve our offering. We will not send you any non-administrative emails or text messages without your consent (see section on Consent). If we send you emails about products and services, we will provide a link that you can click on to "unsubscribe" from such promotional emails. If we contact you by phone, you can request to opt out of further calls at any point.
5. DATA RETENTION
Personal Data provided by you will be retained as long as the purpose for which the data was collected continues. Thereafter, ShiokFarm will destroy or delete the information, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you, unless its retention is required to satisfy legal, regulatory, accounting or other business requirements or to protect ShiokFarm’s interests.
6. LINKS TO OTHER SITES
When you click through to any third party sites from the Website, you acknowledge that you leave the area controlled by us. Accordingly, once you leave the Website or are redirected to a third party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or the ShiokFarm Terms & Conditions.
We cannot accept responsibility for any issues arising in connection with any such third party’s use of your Personal Data, the site content or the services offered to our members by these third party sites. You are advised to consult each site's privacy policy to see how they will use your data.
7. THIRD PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions (see section on Use of Your Personal Data). For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
As an example, if you are located in Singapore and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

“Cookies” are small data files that are sent to your browser from our Website and are stored on your computer’s or device’s hard drive. Each time you visit our Website from the same computer or device, the cookie will be retrieved from your computer or device, enabling our Website to recognise your computer or device as having previously visited our Website and thereby increase the functionality of our Website on your computer or device.
In order to improve our products and services, we collect data by way of cookies. This information allows us to better administer the Website and provide a more tailored and user-friendly service to our members. From time to time it may be necessary for us to update this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any such changes by posting them on the Website.
If ShiokFarm is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to provide our products and services to you.

11. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
This Privacy Policy is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with Singapore law including, without limitation, the provisions of the Evidence Act (Chapter 97), Electronic Transactions Act (Cap. 88) and the PDPA, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
