Claire Chabrières, winner of the Entrepreneur Trophy awarded by EDHEC Business School
So this happened...
Thank you le Petit Journal for this prize!
I must say I am really touched. This is an incredible recognition of all our efforts for the past six years. ShiokFarm's team has been working really hard to provide ethically sourced and sustainable organic food to families in Singapore and I am really proud of what we have achieved so far.
A company is a team effort. In our case it is also a community effort. Our community pillars are ShiokFarm Collection Point hosts. Every week, they open their house for two hours so that families can pick their bags from the host's place, hence saving on home deliveries and CO2 emissions.
Last year, our community has also collectively donated 1,001kg of organic fruit and vegetables to Cheshire Home, a home for disabled people in Serangoon. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 💞
ShiokFarm would not have been possible without the support of my husband, and the motivation my children give me when I watch them grow. Kenji, Martin, Céleste and Paul, thank you, I love you so much!

"The French abroad have an incredible talent. On all continents, many of our compatriots are innovating, getting involved in projects, giving their time for others, in different sectors of activity and in sometimes difficult contexts. Discover our 7 talented winners of the Trophies for French people living abroad, 2022 edition.
Since 2013, lepetitjournal.com has decided to honour these French expatriates, too often overlooked in France, by honouring them during a prestigious ceremony. These Trophies promote international commitment and encourage the projects and initiatives of French expatriates, true ambassadors of French excellence. These French people forge links, create bridges between cultures, undertake, innovate and succeed with boundless energy in constantly renewing themselves.
For this 10th anniversary edition, the Trophies for French people living abroad have achieved their objective, even beyond expectations, with hundreds of candidates and exceptional winners. The French Abroad Trophies have grown this season with a ceremony in Spain, Hong Kong and Singapore. The French Abroad have incredible talent. On all continents, many of our compatriots are innovating, getting involved in projects, giving their time for others, in different sectors of activity and in sometimes difficult contexts. Discover our 7 talented winners of the Trophies for French people living abroad, 2022 edition. (...)
The winners are all invited at the Quai d'Orsay, during a prestigious evening and a gala dinner in the fall 2022. Hervé Heyraud, President and Founder of lepetitjournal.com editions, and our various partners will present the French Abroad Trophies in front of people from the world of international mobility (political representatives, institutions, decision-makers).
"We are committed to highlighting the projects of these French people with an entrepreneurial spirit, whatever their field. All deserve our admiration for the courage they show despite the constraints and uncertainties, far from the clichés that sometimes surround expatriation."
Claire Chabrières, Singapore, Founder of ShiokFarm
Claire Chabrières realised, one evening, while giving an organic pear to her eldest son – which she bought for 6 SGD – that her children's desserts will soon cost her a fortune. When she hears she is pregnant with twins, the calculation is quick: no way to spend 18 SGD for three pears. It is also out of the question to lower her vigilance as to the quality of the products with which she feeds her family. She needs to rethink her way of getting supplies!
In 2015, she decided to create ShiokFarm, a social enterprise offering organic fruits and vegetables at an affordable price. Its ambition is twofold: to allow families to eat quality products, while consuming in an environmentally friendly way. When she started, Claire fed about twenty families. It now feeds 300 every week."
