A bit of history
Originally native to Central and South America, avocados were introduced to Thailand nearly a century ago and are now cultivated mainly in the country's northern highlands. Over the years, several avocado varieties have been successfully adapted to local growing conditions, and Thailand has become known for producing quality avocados with excellent eating characteristics.

Avocados are naturally rich in monounsaturated fats, fibre, potassium, and vitamins E, K, and B6. They are a nutrient-dense fruit that can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet. Thai-grown avocados are appreciated for their mild flavor and smooth texture, making them suitable for a wide range of recipes.
Storage
Store your avocados at room temperature and check them daily, as they can ripen quite quickly. They are ready to eat when they yield gently to pressure. Another useful indicator is the small stem cap at the top: when it detaches easily, the avocado is usually ripe. Once ripe, refrigerate and enjoy within 2–3 days for the best flavor and texture.
How to prepare
Cut them in two, remove the stone (and put it in a pot with soil, pointy bit up and just covered with a couple of mm of soil :), scoop out the flesh. You can eat it like this with a bit of salt and pepper, or you can put it in a salad. They also go very well with shrimps if you like these.
